HI….. i just wanted to say that i’v been lucky to have you as a teacher and realy valued your wisdom. i am so happy that youve gotten me on the right track…..well for atleast being more interested and more excited to goto school excluding the whole homework part. even still that is coming up to be more consistant thaks to you. i woul dlike to see you again somtime soon or at least in the near future. i miss you a lot(spelling demon….got it right) and hope you are having a great time out of school. have fun!

Grand web page, I like it. Although I’m not technically an ex-student, I can say that I’ve recieved a fine, informal, semi-correspondence, semi-aural course from you over the years which has been a splendid adventure that still continues!

You’re right, Hayley, Anna is not from English 9–she’s a marvelous creature who lives in Los Angeles and honors me by calling me auntie. Anna would have loved our class; we would have loved having Anna in our class. She’s funny, creative, hyper-intelligent, and calm and disturbed all at the same time. Our kind of gal.

Okay that was not “English 9″ correct, but that’s okay. Ms. Gill, I’m just going to say that when I came to Dunn High I heard of how awesome the ninth grade English teacher was, and was still overpowered slightly by your fabulous teaching skills. You still surprised me even though we had been told by older students over and OVER again about how cool you are. I felt like your class put into words things that I knew were important, but never took the time to think through. And I am NOT a classroom geek just because I talk about the stuff in your class with friends and family sometimes, DEFINITELY NOT. You can have my math grades to prove I’m not a geek. (If only I found calculators as interesting as stories and morals.) Anyway, thanks for being the first teacher to teach me about stuff I thought wasn’t meant for classrooms and only meant for my crazy imagination before I fall asleep. It was great, thank you!!

Hi Aunt Vickie!!
my mom was just showing me this website and i realized how much easier my school life would be if i had you as my teacher, but luckily in a way i do. I do often have the urge to ask my teachers that question and right before i plan to, i try to think what Calvin would do (Calvin and Hobbes) and i decided to not ask the question. Although i went to an amazing fun filled elementary and i am going to a great Middle School/High School i really would have wanted to go to Dunn and have you teach me English–my mom could teach me French like she’s always secretly wanted to do and Uncle Kam could teach me Art. Now THAT would be fun. I realize now it’s over, i could never fulfill that since Kam and you are moving. But it’s not over, i still have all three of you and will for a long long long time (Sylvie included) and i still have so much more to learn. I can’t wait to see your new house in person and take a million and 1230759878 times 4 pictures there. I am beyond excited.
I love you so much and you are my most funny and cool auntie ever.

And yes i might have written a wee too much, but oh well.

Ms. Gill has to be one of the most inspirational teachers of this era. She knows how to blend the classroom and real life perfectly. There is an indescribable essence that Ms. Gill possesses, and this helps her connect with students incomparably. From teaching her students about how to pull off the perfect job interview to Homer’s Odyssey, there is so much she has to give. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher to get me started in high school.
